John O'Malley: General Partner, Executive Director, West LB Mellon Asset Management
Mr. O'Malley joined WestLB Mellon Asset Management (USA) LLC (“WMAM”) in 2001 and has over 20 years of professional experience. In addition to his role at WMAM, he currently serves as Vice President and Trustee of the Winnetka, IL Police Pension Board. Prior to joining WMAM, Mr. O'Malley served as founder and president of a closely-held wholesale/retail distribution business. Mr. O'Malley co-founded a futures trading firm and served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel of a diversified family office which included direct private investment activities and futures fund-of-funds management, futures trading, commercial real estate development and private aircraft leasing.
Mr. O'Malley is a member of the WMAM Investment Committee, a Portfolio Manager and Deal Team Leader responsible for fund investments and co-investments. In addition, he is the coordinates the WMAM marketing, business development, and client relations functions. In these roles, he has directed structuring of new domestic and international products, including performance-linked notes and complex feeder and parallel structures to accommodate differing international regulatory, tax and business needs.
Mr. O'Malley is licensed to practice law in Illinois and previously served as an attorney specializing in securities litigation. He is also admitted to practice at the Federal District Court. Mr. O'Malley received his B.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University - Chicago, a J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law, and studied in Rome, Italy.
